OVER THE TAVERN by Tom Dudzik
Directed by: Charley Shafor

Performances:
May 27 & 28 & June 3 & 4

Rehearsals begin May1 with a three week rehearsal period.

Roles:

CHET: The father of four and husband to Ellen. He runs a bar that the family owns and lives above. He is a believer of the Catholic church and feels his children are on a path of destruction. He struggles with forming loving relationships between each of them. In the end he is a good man searching for peace.

ELLEN: The glue that keeps the family intact. She is funny, sarcastic, quick witted and tired. She manages her brood and distant husband with a flare that many housewives in the fifties needed to survive. She has a different approach to her family than her husband does but she loves him nonetheless.

SYNOPSIS
In that most idealized period of 20th-century America, the Eisenhower years of the 1950s, the Pazinski family has a lot going on in their cramped Buffalo apartment. The youngest of the bunch, 12-year-old Rudy, is a smart, wise-cracking kid who’s starting to question family values and the Roman Catholic Church. When Rudy goes up against the ruler wielding Sister Clarissa and announces that instead of being confirmed he’d rather shop around for a more “fun” religion, all hell breaks loose. A warm and hilarious look at family, growing up, and God.

Beavercreek Community Theatre Youth Production
April 22-May 1
Beavercreek

The Sheriff of Nottingham has had enough of Robin Hood. He has asked sorcerers far and wide to help him get rid of the good thief. Maudlen, the most powerful of all sorcerers, agrees to help the Sheriff on the condition that he marry Marian, Maudlen’s ugly daughter. The Sheriff agrees and Maudlen sends Robin Hood forward in time. The Sheriff then goes back on his promise to marry Marion since Robin can’t possibly return to 1185 A.D. until, as the curse says, “pigs fly”. Robin and four of his Merry Men end up in Camp Ethel Rudd in modern day America, right in the middle of a reality TV series called Fox Camper Challenge. Four teams are competing for a five million dollar prize. One team can’t make it so Robin and his Merry Men are signed up as replacements. The challenge begins. Maudlen sends the Sheriff of Nottingham and his squire, Nitpik to the same time and place because he had refused to marry Marion. The Sheriff and Nitpik capture Robin, causing the Merry Men to plot a way to get him back.

Free Vocal Health Workshop at Warsaw Federal Incline Theater on April 16

Partnership of Cincinnati Landmark Productions and the Professional Voice Center of Greater Cincinnati (ProVoice) Targets Vocal Actors in Region

WFIT_Sign at nightA performer’s voice is arguably his/her most important tool. Taking good care of it is essential to an actor or singer’s career and long-term health.

Cincinnati Landmark Productions will partner with The Professional Voice Center of Greater Cincinnati (ProVoice) to provide a FREE vocal health workshop for performers on World Voice Day – Saturday, April 16 from 1 to 3pm – at the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater.

This workshop will be led by Dr. Wendy LeBorgne, Erin Donahue, and Carly Cantor, Cincinnati’s premier voice pathologists and singing voice specialists from ProVoice.

Who should attend? Anyone who uses their voice for performing (i.e. singers and actors) may be considered a “vocal athlete” and would benefit from participating in this workshop.

This 2-hour event will provide informational tips and techniques to help all vocal athletes maintain a healthy voice, as well as offer hands-on exercises to maximize vocal efficiency while minimizing vocal injury.

The Warsaw Federal Incline Theater, located at 801 Matson Place in East Price Hill, is the region’s newest performing arts venue. Owned and operated by Cincinnati Landmark Productions, it opened in June 2015 to 45 straight sell-outs. Ample, convenient garage parking is available for $5, in addition to free on-street parking.
