THE AMISH PROJECT is a fictional telling of the Nickels Mine, PA schoolhouse shooting in October 2006. A local milkman entered a one-room Amish schoolhouse and after letting the boys and adults go, shot 10 Amish girls, killing 5. In the wake of this horrific event, the Amish community’s only public statement was one of forgiveness for the man who killed their children and compassion for his widow and children.
THE AMISH PROJECT will run May 13-15 and 19-21. Questions? Contact the director, Karen Vanover at karenmdv@aol.com.
