Auditions Announced for Irish American Theater Company’s THE CAVALCADERS

Set in a Wexford Cobblers shop where four shoemakers transform themselves nightly into the Cavalcaders, a singing quartet that prides itself on harmony (barbershop style), comic patter, and romance. The Cavalcaders is a wonderful memory play that explores the complexity of human relationship with love, music, and a beautiful Musical score. Roche was a musician before turning to Theater.

Show dates, 24- 25- 26th of April 2015, *****and on*****19 May the opening of the Acting Irish International Theater Festival, (here in Cincinnati at the Irish Center Theater.)

We are searching for;

  • 4 actors/who are also singers –one who plays piano
  •  2 actresses
  • 1 Stage Manager

This is a unique opportunity as it offers participants International exposure and a chance to be seen by one of the USA’s most distinguished Directors, from NYC George Heslin.

Everyone onboard with this show will be a part of the Acting Irish Theater Companies International Festival consisting of  7 different companies with 7 different plays coming to Cincinnati from across the US, Canada and Ireland.

Each year the Irish American Theater Company travels to the Acting Irish International Theater Festival ( AIITF).  The Irish American Theater Company ( IATC) has taken cast and crew to Ireland, Calgary, NY, Florida, Winnipeg, Chicago and more.

Monday February 2nd and Tuesday February 3rd beginning at 7 PM.
Appointments are required; Call 513-225-6915.

If you are needed for call backs you will be contacted on Wednesday, February 4th.
Call backs will be on Thursday, February 5th.
First read-through date and time will be posted after auditions are complete.

Four Male Actors who can sing, One actor plays the piano.

  • Josie stage age 50-70
  • Terry stage age 50-70
  • Rory  stage age  20-40
  • Ted stage age 50-70

Two Female Actresses;

  • Breda   stage age 40 – 60
  • Nuala    stage age  20 -30

You will be asked to read from the script.
Men prepare a 2-3 minute acapella song demonstrating vocal range.
