Mariemont Players presents SEEING STARS IN DIXIE, a sassy Southern comedy by Ron Osborn, at the Walton Creek Theater, 4101 Walton Creek Road (just East of Mariemont), July 11th through July 27th, 2014.

It’s 1956 and Hollywood has arrived in Natchez, Mississippi to film Raintree County. The locals gather in Clemmie’s Tea Room to keep up with the gossip. Competition for a small role in the movie brings out the best and the worst in these memorable characters. Twists, turns and revelations lead Clemmie to trade a moment of fame for love and the chance to impact the lives of people dear to her.
SEEING STARS IN DIXIE is directed by Norma Niinemets, produced by Norma and Tom Niinemets, and features Ann Baker as Tootie,  Merritt Beischel as JoBeth, Sue Ann Stein as Marjorie, Arny Stoller as Glease and Anne Wrider as Clemmie, and features Chris Cullen in a cameo appearance and Jeffrey Spadafore as the pre-show announcer.
Performances will be at 8:00pm on July 11th, July 12th, July 18th, July 19th and July 25th; at 2:00pm on July 13th and July 27th; at 7:30pm on July 17th and July 24th; at 2:00pm and 7:00pm on July 20th; and at 3:00pm & 8:00pm on July 26th.
For more information or to order tickets for Seeing Stars in Dixie call Betsy at 513-684-1236 OR order on line at www.mariemontplayers.com. All seats are reserved and cost $18 each.

    Range: G#3 – D5
  • CRYSTAL, RONNETTE and CHIFFON African-American street urchins, acting as the occasional Greek Chorus. Young, hip, and smart, these girls are the only ones who have a grip on reality.
    Female, 20-35 yrs old
    Range: Ab3 – F5
  • MR. MUSHNIK The seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour’s nosy boss. He is profit-driven, greedy, and manipulative.
    Male, 55-65 yrs old
