Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s production of PRIVATE LIVES with a 4 Star Rating.

PRIVATE LIVES is Noel Coward’s witty comedy about Amanda and Elyot, two ex-spouses who reunite five years after their divorce on their respective honeymoons with new partners. Panelists called the show “a fun romantic farce… a slick, fast-paced, laugh-out-loud production.” The entire ensemble was praised: “all the cast members totally engaged us…They took us on a great ride – making us laugh, while at the same time, shocking us.” Kelly Mengelkoch, as Amanda, was singled out: “Her delivery was a trickling waterfall, capturing the subtleties and ennui…who knew she was such a comedienne?” Finally, the panelists commended the “steady hand” of director D. Lynn Meyers: “the real gem of the production is the excellent direction, guiding us through the rollercoaster of acrimony and endearment.”

PRIVATE LIVES continues through June 29th. Tickets can be purchased at www.cincyshakes.com.

League of Cincinnati Theatre panelists evaluate productions on a 5 star scale and recommend shows at either a 4 star or 5 star level. Nominations for LCT awards will be determined and announced at the end of the season and winners awarded at the annual LCT gala in the spring.
