Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park’s THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF COMEDY (ABRIDGED) has earned a 4-Star Rating from LCT panelists.
The Reduced Shakespeare Company’s latest world premiere, is full of laughs and surrounds (literally) the audience with important history lessons–such as when the “Snakes in a Can” gag was invented.
“They nailed it! It is educational, it is topical and it is funny!” stated one panelist. The entire ensemble was commended (Reed Martin, Austin Tichenor and Dominic Conti): “The energy from these three was contagious, and the audience enjoyed being a part of the show.” Martin and Tichenor were also applauded for their efforts scripting this world premiere. One panelist commented that they are “walking a fine seam between making the audience laugh and also making us analyze, however momentarily, what’s making us laugh.” Another added, “This production is a great reminder that sometimes all you need for great theater is the right words and the right people.”
THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF COMEDY (ABRIDGED) continues through October 29th. Tickets can be purchased at www.cincyplay.com.
League of Cincinnati Theatre panelists evaluate productions on a 5 star scale and recommend shows at either a 4 star or 5 star level. Nominations for LCT awards will be determined and announced at the end of the season and winners awarded at the annual LCT gala in the spring.
