Panelists praised Mellick’s “outstanding singing voice,” saying she was “a standout who made us fall in love with her quirky southern personality.”

South Pacific continues through November 3rd. Tickets can be obtained online at www.theatre.nku.edu.

Nominations for LCT awards will be determined and announced at the end of the season and winners awarded at the annual LCT gala in the spring.

  1. I had the pleasure of being in the audience for the production of South Pacific three times this past weekend. The cast was perfect in my viewpoint. Jessica Adamson was a most wonderful Bloody Mary; her rendition of Bali Ha’i was exquisite to the ears as was Happy Talk. Noah Berry’s Younger Than Springtime (Lt. Joe Cable) evoked chills over and again. Warm soft butter is his voice making the words ripple to the soul. The guys were so enjoyable, funny and believable in their characters. Luther? Awesome Luther, Kyle Gaskin, Awesome Luther! The gals were perfectly cute, funny, and sincere. Matt Krieg as Emile was a wonderful wonderful guy indeed. Allysun Mellick is a most delightful Cockeyed Optimist, giving a very convincing performance of the adorable Cockeyed Optimist Nellie Forbush! A charming southern Honey Bun,
I had 3 Enchanted Evenings, thank you cast crew and director of NKU’s South Pacific.
