SPAMALOT Runs Oct. 4-12

SCCT_SpamalotSPAMALOT
Presented by Sinclair Community College Theatre
Oct. 4-12
Dayton

Monty Python’s SPAMALOT – a new musical lovingly ripped off from the motion picture Monty Python and The Holy Grail with book and lyrics by Eric Idle and music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle. It’s the story of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail. Flying cows, killer rabbits, the lady of the lake and show-stopping musical numbers are just part of this hilarious, yet highly irreverent parody.

SHAKIN’ THE MESS OUTTA MISERY Runs Oct. 3-6

CBTC_Shaking the Mess Outta MiserySHAKIN’ THE MESS OUTTA MISERY
Presented by Cincinnati Black Theatre Company
Oct. 3-6
Woodlawn

The story of a young black girl’s coming of age in the South in the 1960s. Daughter, the main character and 25-year-old narrator whose mother died when she was very young, was raised by women in the community, some blood related, some not. When she was 12 years old she began her journey to womanhood guided by these very diverse, nontraditional, older black women. Daughter begins the play as an adult reflecting on the summer of her 12th year in the now empty house of her childhood. She shares with the audience how her Big Mamas prepared her for womanhood. As she remembers, the women enter to tell their stories and Daughter becomes a child again reliving her vivid memories of growing up–recalling the rituals, the faith healings, the stories she was told and the lessons she learned about survival, healing, deep faith and mystery.

  • Thu-Fri, Oct. 3-4 at 7:30pm
  • Sat, Oct. 5 at 2pm & 7:30pm
