Directed by Mark Lutwak

Cast: Dale Hodges, Kevin Crowley & Landree Fleming

The legendary, reclusive Krisit is in her 70s, way too over the hill to be a movie starlet; Peter is in his 50s, way too over the hill to be a young movie director; Lulu is in her 30s, almost too over the hill to be on the list of most influential under the age of 35. How can they face the world? How can they make a deal? How can they all fit into the same bathtub?

Showboat’s FOREVER PLAID Earns LCT Recommendation

Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized Showboat Majestic’s FOREVER PLAID as a recommended production.

This deliciously goofy revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950’s on the way to their first big concert, and now miraculously revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was. Singing in the closest of harmony, squabbling boyishly over the smallest intonations and executing their charmingly outlandish choreography with over-zealous precision, the “Plaids” are a guaranteed smash, with a program of beloved songs and delightful patter that keeps audiences rolling in the aisles when they’re not humming along to some of the great nostalgic pop hits of the 1950’s.

Panelists praised the production as “a joy from start to finish with lots of laughs”; “the cast of four CCM students have professional-sounding voices, plus the spirit, charisma and sincerity of college students giving it their all.”

Forever Plaid continues through June 2nd. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.cincinnatilandmarkproductions.com/sbm.
