Before Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, before Elizabeth Taylor received an Academy Award for Butterfield 8, and before Wilt-the-Stilt completed the first of his seven consecutive years as basketball’s top scorer, “Try To Remember” and “Soon It’s Gonna Rain” were part of our culture. The Fantasticks has charmed audiences ever since “Ike” was president. Each of our generations from bobby- soxers to the flower children to baby-boomers, to today’s cyberkids have embraced the timeless universality of the show.
