He created and produced the Emmy®-winning animated series Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, which began airing in the 1970s and was made into a film in 2004. The show, based upon Cosby’s childhood in Philadelphia, was designed to educate and entertain.

The former Navy serviceman’s illustrious list of accomplishments includes roles on the children’s educational show Electric Company and creating and producing the Emmy® Award-winning Little Bill, which is based on his bestselling book series. Cosby has received the Kennedy Center Honors, the Presidential Medal of Freedom (America’s highest civilian honor), the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, and the Marian Anderson Award. Among his many awards for his stand-up comedy albums are five Grammy® Awards, and eight Gold and five Platinum records.

Perhaps Cosby’s greatest contribution to American entertainment and culture is The Cosby Show, about a close-knit, upper-class black family. Cosby said his intent was to portray an American family. Time magazine called the show “an encouraging sign of maturity in matters of race.” The Cosby Show dominated the No. 1 spot for years, earning nearly unanimous critical praise. Life magazine described the program as “a gentle, whimsical, warmhearted” show whose “delicious ordinariness of pleasures and tribulations has given millions a fresh, laughter-splashed perspective on their own domestic lives.”

THE OVERTURE AWARDS
The Overture Awards Scholarship Competition is the largest locally run arts scholarship competition in the country. The program annually provides a $3,500 scholarship to six area high school students for education and training, with 18 finalists each winning a $750 scholarship. Each year, more than 450 students are nominated by their schools to compete in one of six artistic disciplines: Creative Writing, Dance, Instrumental Music, Theater, Visual Art or Vocal Music. There are three levels of competition: Regional, Semi-Finals and Final.

The Overture Awards was developed to recognize, encourage and reward excellence in the arts among Tri-state students in grades 9-12. It also provides students an opportunity to share their talents and interests among their peers in a supportive environment outside of their individual schools. Now in its 18th year, The Overture Awards was launched in 1996 by the Cinergy Foundation and Leadership Cincinnati (a Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce program).

CINCINNATI ARTS ASSOCIATION
Founded in 1992, the Cincinnati Arts Association (CAA) is a not-for-profit organization that oversees the programming and management of two of the Tri-state’s finest performing arts venues – the Aronoff Center for the Arts and Music Hall – and is dedicated to supporting performing and visual arts. Each year, CAA presents a diverse schedule of events; serves more than 700,000 people in its venues; features the work of talented local, regional, and national artists in the Weston Art Gallery (located in the Aronoff Center); and supports the work of more than one dozen resident companies, including Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati Symphony/Pops Orchestras, May Festival, and Fifth Third Back Broadway in Cincinnati. Since the inception of its acclaimed arts education programs in 1995, CAA has reached more than 1.3 million students.

CAA_Peter Story[Cincinnati, OH] – Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE!, the one-man fusion of theatre and stand-up starring Peter Story, is a light-hearted theatrical comedy based on the New York Times #1 best-selling book of the last decade by John Gray.  The show will play the Aronoff Center’s Jarson-Kaplan Theater on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 7:30 PM.  Moving swiftly through a series of vignettes, the show covers everything from dating and marriage to the bedroom.

Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE! is more than just the book.

It debuted in the United States in February 2013 in Raleigh, North Carolina and will be playing to audiences around the United States and Canada throughout the year.

This hysterical show will have couples elbowing each other all evening as they see themselves on stage. Sexy and fast paced, this show is definitely for adults, but will leave audiences laughing and giggling like little kids!

Peter has appeared in prime-time shows on all three major networks – some of his favorite credits include CSI (directed by Quentin Tarantino), Without a Trace, Ugly Betty, and recurring roles on Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show and Rob Lowe’s The Lyon’s Den.  He stars opposite Steve Guttenberg in the cheesy horror film, Cornered, and can be seen opposite Weed’s Elizabeth Perkins in the hilarious short, Le Chat Est Mort.  He is proud alum of the New Harmony Project and an avid storyteller with The Moth.

Peter’s story of how he and his wife won a dream wedding competition was just featured nationally on NPR’s The Moth Radio Hour, a show featuring the country’s best storytellers.

Commenting on Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE!, Peter said, “It’s a great recipe for a night out: a little storytelling blended with some comedy and a dash of sage wisdom from the book. A delicious evening of entertainment.”

When Mars and Venus collide, the adventures are earth-shatteringly hysterical.
