CINCINNATI, OH – The Cincinnati Ballet and the Cincinnati Arts Association are proud to present New York City’s acclaimed Dance Theatre of Harlem for two performances only – Tuesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 18, 7:30 PM, at the Aronoff Center’s Procter & Gamble Hall.

Tickets are on sale now at www.cballet.org, www.CincinnatiArts.org, (513) 621-ARTS [2787], and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office. Group discount tickets for ten or more are available by calling (513) 977-4157.

Dance Theatre of Harlem (DTH) tours nationally and internationally, delivering a powerful vision for ballet in the 21st century. The multi-ethnic company performs forward-thinking repertoire of treasured classics, neoclassical works by George Balanchine and resident choreographer Robert Garland, and innovative contemporary works that use the language of ballet to celebrate Black culture. In addition to performance, DTH activities carry a message of empowerment through the arts by engaging the community through educational activities for audiences and youth.

In 1969, at the height of the civil rights movement, Arthur Mitchell and Karel Shook founded Dance Theatre of Harlem. Shortly after the assassination of The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Mitchell was inspired to start a school that would offer children – especially those in Harlem, the community in which he was born – the opportunity to learn about dance and the allied arts. Now in its sixth decade, Dance Theatre of Harlem has achieved unprecedented success, bringing innovative and bold new forms of artistic expression to audiences in New York City, across the country, and around the world.

MENOPAUSE the Musical Runs Feb. 15-27

CAA_Menopause the Musical 2022MENOPAUSE the Musical
Cincinnati Arts Association
Feb. 15-27
Aronoff Center Jarson-Kaplan Theatre [Downtown]

COME JOIN OUR SISTERHOOD! Set in a department store, four women meet while shopping for a black lace bra at a lingerie sale. After noticing similarities among one another, the cast jokes about their woeful hot flashes, mood swings, wrinkles, weight gain and much more. These women form a sisterhood and unique bond with the entire audience as they rejoice in celebrating that menopause is no longer ‘The Silent Passage’.

Inspired by a hot flash and a bottle of wine, Menopause The Musical® was created as a celebration of women who find themselves at any stage of ‘The Change’. The laughter-filled 90-minute production gets audience members out of their seats and singing along to parodies from classic pop songs of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s.  It’s the Hilarious Celebration of Women and The Change!®  (And men love it, too.)
