TheatreLab Dayton is thrilled to announce auditions for Dan Goggin’s NUNSENSE—the habit-forming musical comedy that has been making audiences laugh for decades! We’re seeking strong comedic performers with excellent vocal chops, sharp timing, and fearless physicality.
This is a NON-AEA production. Performers will be contracted and receive a stipend.

- Accepted through 12:00 PM (noon) on January 19
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
- Please prepare 32 bars (approximately 1 minute) of a song in the style of the show (musical comedy / legit Broadway sound).
- Sheet music is required for in-person auditions (an accompanist will be provided).
- Be prepared to read from sides; some movement may be included at callbacks.
ROLES AVAILABLE
All roles are female-presenting and require strong comedic instincts.
Sister Mary Regina (Reverend Mother)
- The formidable, confident leader of the convent
- Strong belt and legit mix
- Excellent comedic authority and timing
Sister Mary Hubert (Mistress of Novices)
- Second-in-command with a classic musical theatre sound
- Elegant, warm, and quietly competitive
- Strong mezzo with control and humor
Sister Robert Anne
- Street-smart, tough, and hilariously blunt
- Big personality with strong belt
- Great comedic edge and energy
Sister Mary Leo
- The convent’s novice and ballet dancer
- High soprano with excellent physicality
- Sweet, earnest, and eager to please
Sister Mary Amnesia
- A delightfully mysterious nun who “can’t remember” anything
- Character-driven performer with strong comedic instincts
- Flexible vocal range; physical comedy a plus
