Auditions for THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE have been set for August 30 and 31, 7-10pm at Falcon Theatre in Newport. Performances will be January 26-February 11, 2017.

Characters:
- Ransome Foster (M/30-40): A scholar from New York, well-spoken and well-read.
- Hallie Jackson (F/25-35): A strong-minded, rough-talking proprietor of a saloon.
- Bert Barricune (M/40-50): A true gunslinger, worn and battered, and in love with Hallie.
- Jim ‘The Reverend’ Mosten (M/20-30): An African-American swamper. Kind, well-mannered and gentle with a lot of energy.
- Liberty Valance (M/30-40): A Southern gentleman; intelligent, tough and terrifyingly unpredictable.
- Marshal Johnson (M/50-60): Talks the talk, but a bit of a coward when it comes to confrontation.
- Jake Dowitt (M/25-40): An enthusiastic reporter for a small local paper.
- Company (M/20-40): Will swing from Valance’s Gang to Mourners to Students to Saloon patrons. One will also play the Deputy.
- Narrator (M/ any age) This can be a voice over only or one of the Company
