CINCINNATI, OHIO — Modern Dance organization and performing company, MamLuft&Co. Dance, is premiering a new work entitled Memoriam (In Memory of Memory) at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, on May 22 and 23, 2015.
Memoriam is a work about both celebrated and lost memories.
The work’s choreographers, Elena Rodriguez, Susan Honer, and Jeanne Mam-Luft, seek to juxtapose experiences of youth with those of aging.
As such, the organization is seeking seniors and mature adults to appear in the performance as extras.
MamLuft&Co. Dance is recruiting mature adults who can rehearse with the company on Wednesday evenings, starting with an audition or first meeting on Wednesday, April 8 from 6:30-8:30pm at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center (3711 Clifton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45220).
The extras will not be dancing, necessarily, and absolutely no prior theatrical or dance experience is necessary. All body types are welcome. The organization asks that extras be comfortable working in somewhat dim theatrical lighting, in addition to being comfortable with learning and building upon material week-to-week.
Interested parties are encouraged to visit MLCo.org/auditions for more detail and to complete a registration form on the website. They may also call 513-494-6526 or email dance@mlco.org for more information.
