CINCINNATI, OHIO — Cincinnati’s Modern Dance company MamLuft&Co. Dance performs its first-ever mixed repertory concert to take place on an Aronoff Center stage. The Company offers that this event — taking place January 9 & 10, 2015 at the downtown arts center — will be a refreshing change from the holiday season that immediately precedes it.
The dance company was recently named “Best Dance Company Pushing the Envelope” (2012) and described as “intrepid” and “impressive” by CityBeat. MamLuft&Co. Dance normally focuses on producing original, evening-length works. As such, a concert at the Aronoff consisting of only previously-premiered mixed-repertory from prior seasons has been unprecedented for the Company, now in its eighth season.
Having just completed a successful fall touring season (during which the Company of eight dancers performed in Chicago and Roanoke, Virginia), MamLuft&Co. Dance embarks on a home season at the Aronoff Center, first with MamLuft&Co. Dance in Concert, January 9 and 10, and then, the premiere of Memoriam (In Memory of Memory), May 22 and 23.
In MamLuft&Co. Dance in Concert, the Modern Dance troupe will perform the following recent favorites, in short-form adaptations from their original full-length versions:

Director and lead choreographer, Jeanne Mam-Luft, says of the performance line-up, “It’s been such a journey these last seven years, here in Cincinnati. Seeing four of our works from the past three seasons, right next to each other, is very illuminating, even for those of us involved. I think audiences will not only see our signature style, but they’ll also see our range. The technique and skills of the dancers amaze me every day, and it is quite a full show of work — very physical, very real. We’re grateful to be revisiting these works and hope Cincinnati will take the opportunity to either see them again in a different form or catch them after missing them the first time around.”
Tickets will be available at (513) 621-ARTS (2787) via the Cincinnati Arts Association box office at the Aronoff Center for the Arts (650 Walnut St., Cincinnati) or cincinnatiarts.org.
