We are auditioning for 6 male character roles and 2 male ensemble members.

  • LESTER THE JESTER (18-25) – Lead role. Likeable joker, but sincerely in love with the princess. Leads a band of misfits to her rescue.
  • TUMBLESTUMP (18-40) – Fearless but clumsy steward. Dreams of becoming a knight.
  • SIR ROCCO WRETCHED (20-35) – The bad guy who kidnaps the princess. Over-the-top, buffoonishly evil.
  • DIVOT / EDGAR WRETCHED (40-60) – Rocco’s timid henchman. Revealed to be Rocco’s father. NOTE: The actor playing this role must be capable and comfortable with physical comedy, specifically dropping to and tumbling on the floor.
  • PRINCE VINCE (18-35) – Pompous and wealthy prince. One of the princess’s suitors. Featured role with solos in two songs. Also a part of the ensemble.
  • PRINCE DARIN (18-35) – Strong and adventurous prince. One of the princess’s suitors. Featured role with solos in two songs. Also a part of the ensemble.
  • ENSEMBLE – Sing, dance, and may act as puppeteers.

Audition Requirements:

  • Prepare a short song that shows personality and range. Bring sheet music in the proper key. An accompanist will be provided. No a cappella or recorded accompaniment, please.
  • There will be readings from the script.
  • Everyone will learn a short dance routine.
  • Bring resume, if available, and known conflicts between May 19 – August 9.
  • Most importantly, be prepared to laugh a lot and have fun!
