Panelists for the League of Cincinnati Theatres (LCT) have recognized the Clifton Players’ production of KRISIT with two LCT nominations for Lead Actress (Dale Hodges) and Lead Actor (Kevin Crowley) as well as distinguishing it as a recommended production.
The legendary, reclusive Krisit is in her 70s, way too over the hill to be a movie starlet; Peter is in his 50s, way too over the hill to be a young movie director; Lulu is in her 30s, almost too over the hill to be on the list of most influential under the age of 35. How can they face the world? How can they make a deal? How can they all fit into the same bathtub?
Panelists praised Dale Hodge’s portrayal of Krisit as “exquisite…fearless, fresh, and layered”; “a stellar performance.” Kevin Crowley was “spontaneous, hilarious and spot on in the role of Peter.” The show as a whole was “a funny, well crafted and intelligent play” with “inventive staging” and “hilarious costumes.”
Krisit continues through June 2nd. Tickets can be purchased at http://cliftonperformancetheatre.com.
Final LCT awards will be determined at the end of the 2014 season and announced at the LCT gala in the spring.
