Sinclair Theatre will hold OPEN AUDITIONS for Monty Python’s SPAMALOT – a new musical lovingly ripped off from the motion picture Monty Python and The Holy Grail — Monday, May 13th beginning at 6 p.m. in 2L12 on Sinclair’s downtown Dayton campus.
With book and lyrics by Eric Idle and music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, SPAMALOT is the story of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail. Flying cows, killer rabbits, the lady of the lake and show-stopping musical numbers are just part of this hilarious, yet highly irreverent parody.
OPEN AUDITIONS means that performers do not have to be theatre majors or Sinclair students. All actors prepared with the following requirements are welcome to audition: memorize a 1-minute comedic monologue and 32 bars of a comedic, musical theatre piece. An accompanist will be provided. You must bring sheet music; no a cappella or recorded music allowed.
Callbacks will be May 14th and will consist of cold readings, singing and a dance audition. Director is Gina Kleesattel. Music Direction is by Daniel Greene and choreography by Rodney Veal.
Production dates will be October 4-12. Online audition registrations at: www.sinclair.edu/theatreauditions. For more information: patti.celek@sinclair.edu.
