Frisch Marionette Company is seeking part-time seasonal puppeteer for the 2011/2012 season. Employment begins fall, 2011.
Requirements: Candidates must be at least 20 years of age, have some college education in theatre arts, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. No experience with marionettes necessary; we will train the right candidate. However, you must be energetic, have good hand/eye coordination and a sense of showmanship. Preferred candidate may have some previous experience working with children in the performing arts.
Candidate must be able to work in an unsupervised environment; must be a self starter, dependable, and have excellent communication and customer service skills; must be able to lift 50 lbs; must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule.
The successful candidate will have the skills and purpose to grow with the Frisch Marionette Company and could include year-round opportunities.

About Frisch Marionette Company: Kevin Frisch moved from Cincinnati to New York City and joined Nicolas Coppola’s The Puppetworks, Inc., of Brooklyn, NY in 1986. Working with many puppeteers, Kevin developed his own art, craft and skills as a puppeteer and artist. Kevin spent the next nine years touring the New York Metropolitan area as well as performing in The Puppetworks’ permanent theatres in Brooklyn and Macy’s Herald Square.
In 1995, he established The Frisch Marionettes as an exceptional entertainment and educational experience for children and adults alike, proclaiming the many virtues of this unusual art form. Frisch Marionettes have built puppets, masks and costumes for The Central Park Zoo, New York Aquarium and The Puppetworks Inc. They’ve been seen in People Magazine, SHOWTIME’S “Twisted Puppet Theater”, the PBS Documentary “The American Puppet,” and onstage with The Cincinnati Opera as well as in the New York store windows of Saks 5th Avenue, Bloomingdales’ and Hermes New York.
