THE LITTLE PRINCE runs Aug. 5-7

THE LITTLE PRINCE
Presented by SSCC Theatre
Aug. 5-7
Hillsboro

THE LITTLE PRINCE tells the story of a world-weary and disenchanted Aviator whose sputtering plane strands him in the Sahara Desert and a mysterious, regal “little man” who appears and asks him to “Please, sir, draw me a sheep.” During their two weeks together in the desert, the Little Prince tells the Aviator about his adventures through the galaxy, how he talks to everyone he meets. From each he gains a unique insight which he shares with the Aviator: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly.” “What is essential is invisible to the eye.” At length, both the “little man” and the Aviator must go home each with a new understanding of how to laugh, cry, and love again.

PUMP UP THE VOLUME runs Aug. 5-7

PUMP UP THE VOLUME
Presented by Encore Theatre Company as part of the 2011 Festival of New Musicals
Aug. 5-7
Dayton

Talk Hard. Steal the air. When Mark Hunter, a high school student in a sleepy suburb of Phoenix starts an FM pirate radio station that broadcasts from his bedroom transmitter in the basement of his parent’s house, he has no idea what he has set into motion. Mark is a loner, an outsider, whose only outlet for his teenage angst and aggression is this unauthorized radio station turning this sleepy town on its ear. Based on the 1990 film of the same name, Jordan Mann, Jeff Thompson and Jeremy Desmon have transformed this story of rebellion and finding your voice into a driving new rock musical. ETC will present this show in development at The Loft theatre.
