Cincinnati Shakespeare Company Receives a 54% Increase in Operating Support from the Ohio Arts Council

CSC is proud to receive $18,140 in operating support from the Ohio Arts Council for the 2011-2012 season!

CINCINNATI, July 25, 2011 – Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is proud to announce an increase of 54% in operating support from the Ohio Arts Council. The funds in the amount of $18,140 will support programming and overhead for the theatre’s 2011-2012 season. This support is vital to the ongoing success of CSC. They are proud the OAC has recognized and rewarded that success with an increase over last year’s award.

Managing Director, Lettie Van Hemert says “We are incredibly grateful to Governor Kasich and the entire legislature for increasing funding for arts in Ohio. The arts are extremely important to the quality of life and economic vibrancy of every community. CSC, like so many arts organizations in Cincinnati, employs local actors and administrators. That means every ticket sold and every dollar donated adds to the economy right here at home. It’s gratifying to know that our state leaders understand how important the arts are to this community.”

The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally and economically. With funds from the Ohio Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, the OAC provides financial assistance to artists and arts organizations.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is currently running performances of “Bedroom Farce”.
