A TOAST TO JONN BACA On Dec. 14

In accordance with Baca’s wishes, this will be a casual POTLUCK style event among friends, so please bring a communal dish. The venue will provide a CASH/CREDIT BAR. Please remember to tip your bartender.

A chair with a glass of bourbon on it will be left empty. That will be Baca’s chair. Other chairs will be placed in a circle. He has requested that we join the circle, drink, and tell stories of the good times we had with him.

He wants a joyous event. Nothing somber. He wants us all to have fun and be the people he loves much.

Donations for the family to assist with final arrangements will be accepted at the event.
Please invite anyone who has worked with, studied with, or knows him.

Enjoy a series of short plays that challenge the boundaries of creativity, featuring works by renowned playwright Lee Blessing alongside compelling pieces from other National Playwrights and artificial intelligence.  Will you be surprised which stories speak to you?

We walk into this space of story telling asking ourselves and our audiences how comfortable are we consuming the artistry of the machine? Is it simply mirroring humanity as a collective? Will it be obvious a human soul isn’t behind a particular story? We will facilitate talk backs after each show for those who wish to discuss. Come let us tell you a story and hopefully keep you thinking about this  experience long after you leave the theatre!

Following an unimaginable tragedy, James and Claire retreat to a cabin in the woods, intending to live out their time as survivalists but after nine months things are not going as planned. Enter Richard, grizzled mountain man who changes the equation and their fortunes. This dark comedy is prescient and hilarious and speaks to our current state of chaos in unexpected ways.

An elderly woman, Alexandria barricades herself with explosives in her Brooklyn brownstone and refuses to go to a nursing home. Her two older children wait outside ready to call the police. However, Chris her estranged, gay son returns after 20 years and becomes an unlikely mediator.
