GCTTG Offering Costume and Lighting Workshops

The Greater Cincinnati Technical Theatre Guild will be offering two technical workshops on Saturday, April 28.

Introduction to Costuming Workshop lead by Karen Wiebe is designed for people who would like to know the basics of costume design and get an idea of how they can help in the theatre. Topics include costuming from different perspectives, how to reach a happy medium with set and lighting designers, historically accurate costumes on a tight budget and more. This workshop will be 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

Introduction to Lighting Workshop lead by Roberto Henriquez will introduce the beginner to the principles and equipment used to light theatrical performances. Topics will include basic lighting and electrical principles, lighting fixtures, dimming and control, safety and more. This workshop will be 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Both workshops are free and open to the public.

GCTTG Meeting on March 16

Greater Cincinnati Technical Theatre Guild will hold their next meeting on Friday, March 16. The meeting will be at the TGI Friday’s in Beechmont at 7:00pm.

GCTTG is open to all who are interested in technical theatre, beginners to seasoned veterans.

Greater Cincinnati Technical Theatre Guild

Greater Cincinnati Technical Theatre Guild is a group for those involved in theatre and looking to continually improve the technical quality of productions.

We look to provide technical support for each other as well as for non-professional theatres in the Greater Cincinnati area. Periodically, the group will look to provide technical workshops for those interested in starting in or learning more about technical theatre. Our initial focus is in lighting and sound, but we look to expand to other technical areas as our membership grows.

Their next meeting is Jan. 20. Details will be available early next week on their blog.
