At the height of the historic Harlem Renaissance, venues like The Cotton Club were jumpin’ to a new beat called “swing.” Ain’t Misbehavin’ is a rollicking, finger-snapping, toe-tapping, Tony Award®-winning musical revue — a tribute to the black entertainers of the early 1900’s that centers on the music of one of the most prolific musicians of the time, Thomas “Fats” Waller.

This 1993 Bestseller & 2000 Peabody Award winner, tells the story of the Delany Sisters, who, with intelligence and good humor, have stood witness to 100 years of American life. Sadie and Bessie Delany prepare a celebratory dinner in remembrance of their father’s birthday, they take us on a remarkable journey of our nation’s history, with a wit and insight borne of a hundred years of living, illuminating a fascinating series of events and anecdotes drawn from their rich family history and careers as pioneering African-American professionals Their story is not simply African-American history or women’s history. It is our history, told through the eyes of two unforgettable women as they look not only into the past, but also ahead into the twenty-first century.

The Cincinnati Black Theatre Company presents its annual Christmas gift to the community with its performance of this holiday favorite. The grand and colorfully-staged production tells the original biblical story of the Nativity through scripture and verse. Along with inspirational music and dance. Based on the Gospel of St. Luke, combined with the poetry of Langston Hughes, this Musical- offers a rousing- and touching- reminder of what the holiday is all about.
