The Shards of an Honor Code Junkie is an autobiographical story of a young homosexual Mormon man who embarks on a journey of self-love and acceptance while challenging Brigham Young University’s staunch eight Honor Code Rules. This contemporary musical celebrates the love-tenants that are part of the Mormon faith, while confronting some of the less-supportive aspect of student culture at the University. CCM Musical Theatre has been working closely with writer/composer Blake Allen to bring his 2021 chart-topping concept album to life on stage for the first time. In the words Blake Allen: “I hope that the story of Shards…can help those in dark corners to feel loved and find some light.” Please be aware that this production contains themes of drug usage, emotional abuse & its aftermath, suicide, non-consensual physical intimacy, eating disorders, religion.
