A KLINGON CHRISTMAS CAROL begins performances on Wednesday, December 11 and is honored to announce a list of very special guests joining the show throughout the run ending on December 22. Marc Okrand, creator of the Klingon language made famous in the Star Trek franchise will be in the audience for opening night. Author of “The Klingon Dictionary,” Okrand has been involved with Star Trek since Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Director and producer of Cincinnati’s A KLINGON CHRISTMAS CAROL, Michael Hall said, “We are thrilled that Marc will be seeing our production. The cast has worked very hard to respect the Klingon language and culture. Sharing it with the language’s creator is something very special indeed.”

In addition to Marc Okrand, Indianapolis-based music group il Troubadour will be performing Klingon songs at both the opening night (December 11) and closing night (December 22) performances. A KLINGON CHRISTMAS CAROL’s playwright, Christopher Kidder-Mostrom will be in attendance on Saturday, December 14.

Produced by Hugo West Productions, A KLINGON CHRISTMAS CAROL embraces the holiday season, with performances Wednesdays through Sundays December 11 through 22. Written by Christopher Kidder-Mostrom and Sasha Walloch, A KLINGON CHRISTMAS CAROL was first performed in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 2007, later adding a production in Chicago. 2013 marks the first time that the show will be produced in Cincinnati, simultaneously with the Minnesota and Chicago productions.

Created within the Star Trek franchise, Klingons have been a part of popular culture since their introduction in the 1960s. This adaptation of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic tells the tale of Squ’ja as he learns to embrace the Klingon Warrior Code of Honor and will be performed in Klingon with English supertitles.

Performance dates for A KLINGON CHRISTMAS CAROL are December 11 through 15 and December 18 through 22.
